Michael Oxman has spent over twenty five years working at the intersection of international business, sustainability, human rights and risk management. 

As a Senior Advisor to Article One, Michael advises on social performance, human rights strategy and management, integrating sustainability considerations into business activities, and development of local community benefits such as local content.   

Previously, Michael served as a Partner and Industry Director at Acorn International and Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), respectively where he worked with a broad range of international energy and mining companies on local content, social performance, and human rights. Michael has also worked for Chevron, Price Waterhouse, and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) with a focus on risk management, financial/fiscal analysis, and strategic planning.  Michael has global experience including two prior expatriate residential assignments in Central Asia.

Michael has an MBA from Rice University, an MIA from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA), and a B.A. from Trinity College in Russian Area Studies.
